Go Bigger In The UK?
Each year the UK hosts a number of really good, outdoor shred events on our ‘dry’ slopes. A week or so ago, was Go big or Go Home at Bearsden, Glasgow. Top notch riders like Jamie Nicholls and Will Smith were present.
Check out the video:
There’s no doubt about it – our riders are throwing down good tricks on snowflex kickers. Going pretty big. But not that big…
During that video above, I couldn’t help but think that we should have some bigger kickers for UK snowboarders to ride.
The setup in Noeux Les Mines, Pas de Calais, France – is bigger (better?) that anything we have in the UK. Then there is the dry slope at Liberty Mountain in Virginia. Check out the snowflex kickers there:

Snowflex came into being, here in the UK. Yet it’s adoption in other countries has produced better slopes with bigger kickers. It doesn’t seem right. I know that funding is always an issue in the UK – but that’s just lame. We should be giving our riders the tools to go bigger…
What do you think?

Couldn’t agree more. Our riders have got the skills to go bigger, so why not give them the opportunity to do their best at home as well as abroad?
Well said Cat I couldn’t agree more. Very good video also guys well done.
That last video is sick!
Funding isn’t just an issue in the UK, many other countries experience the same problems. Maybe our sport isn’t as recognised as much as the football codes. So what can we do to improve it? Probably by pushing ourselves to constantly reach higher levels.
Love your video, great job!!!
