Rider Profile: Martin Cornally

I met Martin towards the end of 2006 at Castleford. It wasn’t long before he was signed up for our 2007 trip to Laax. There were eight of us out there for a couple of weeks; we shared the camera around on the hill, it was a lot of fun. Since then we’ve become good friends. Shredding at ‘Cas and Halifax, a bit of skating and we’re set for Fernie next year. Check out Martin’s answers below…

How long have you been snowboarding?
Riding for about 5 years
How did you get into it?
Fancied going on a winter holiday but didn’t want to ski, never looked back
Where have you been?
France, Italy, Switzerland, America. Did 3 months in Les Arcs, France
Who do you normally ride with?
The living legend, G dowg! (Gavin: that’s me btw)
What do you think of riding in the UK?
We have some good, accessible indoor and outdoor slopes, but no real freestyle structure to the dedicated nights
What type of riding do you like to do?
All types, early morning corduroy, Pow, Rails, jumps, just cruising the hill. it’s all good yo!
What’s your setup, board, bindings, angles etc?
Ride dh, Burton missions, 15?, -15? angles I think
Any sponsorship?
None (yet!)
What’s been your worst slam?
First holiday. Last day, dreaded last run (never say it!!) knocked myself out. not good.
Where are you riding next?
Hopefully a few freestyle sessions and the airbag nights at cas-vegas, halifax, and the next trip to canada

What do you like best about snowboarding?
There’s not much of it i don’t like. the feeling of cruising with your mates and the apres ride! nothing beats it!
